by Mark Szakonyi Staff Writer

Jacksonville, FL − (JACKSONVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL) − A Jacksonville logistics company helped the 832nd Transportation Battalion gear up for Haiti relief efforts and continues to help the Federal Emergency Management Agency do the same.

Coyote Logistics LLC managed the movement of about 10 trucks to the battalion’s operations in Blount Island, said John Myhre, the company’s government and emergency services account manager. The company is providing 40 tractors to move 40 government-owned trailers from FEMA’s base in Forest Park, Ga., to Homestead Air Reserve Base in Miami.

The hauled ready-to-eat meals and water will be flown from Miami to Haiti. The company is also getting ready to possibly haul goods for mobile power generator supplier Taylor Power Systems Inc. and base services provider Special Operations Group Inc.

Major Frank Ross said the battalion, which could be tasked to bring damaged ports online, hasn’t received its orders but they could come tonight.

Naval Air Station Jacksonville sailors and civilians loaded ready-to-eat meals, medical supplies, hygiene supplies and other relief items onto Navy aircraft this morning.
